After Willie loses his job as treasurer, he decides to pursue law. He wants to become a lawyer, and distribute justice to Americans that way instead. He spends countless hours studying by day and night, reading every book he can get his hands on to make sure he will be the best he can be. His drive is incredible, and truly inspirational. The BAR exam he is preparing for is a cakewalk, and poses no challenge. This shows Willie's first true testing point of determination in the book, and his ability to strive above and beyond to achieve his goals. This same honest determination will eventually lead to his corruption of running over people to gain power.
